Attorney Profile
During law school, I served as an Editor on the Natural Resources Journal, and worked as an extern at the Federal Defender’s Office in Albuquerque, getting a valuable introduction to the challenges of criminal defense. After I graduated in 1995, I worked with a group of Albuquerque criminal defense lawyers, and soon thereafter opened my solo law practice with an emphasis on criminal defense. I now practice exclusively in the field of criminal defense, and provide the specialized and focused legal services that only a small law firm can provide. I have successfully tried cases throughout the State of New Mexico, and practice in both State and Federal courts. My professional memberships include the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the American Civil Liberties Union. I have also served on the State of New Mexico Sentencing Commission Workload Study Group to examine the needs of indigent defense throughout the State of New Mexico. I am an attorney in good standing with the courts of the State of New Mexico, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am also a member of the Bar of the State of Maine. I speak fluent Spanish, and work with a diverse clientele, accused of a wide spectrum of charges. I am married with two children, and spend much of my free time enjoying New Mexico’s outdoors and volunteering for the American Youth Soccer Organization, where I coach and referee my daughters’ teams. |
